Rail Festival Archive Films

Duration:90 mins

All aboard at City Screen for RailFest 2012. Graham Relton, Archive Manager of Yorkshire Film Archive , will introduce a series of short films capturing the railway heritage of York and the region over the last century.

Covering the period from the 1890s to the 1980s, the footage includes one of the earliest films ever to feature a train; locomotives clearing the snow in 1947; chocolate ‘railway’ adverts; trips to the coast; and a speeded-up ride along the North Yorkshire Moors Railway.
