Pig Business

United Kingdom 2010, 76 mins
Director: Tracy-Louise Ward

PIG BUSINESS charts the four-year investigation by actress and eco-campaigner Tracy Worcester into the industrialisation of pig farming.

The film opens in the UK, where she discovers how supermarket labels are an unreliable guide to how and where pork has been produced.

She takes us on a journey to the USA, Brazil and Poland; to the offices of corporate leaders, European bureaucrats and tax payer-funded banks.

Their policies support a farming system that tortures animals, pollutes the environment, causes sickness to workers and neighbours, causes MRSA and swine flu, and pushes traditional farmers out of business.

Featuring Robert Kennedy Jr and leading politicians, this convincing and absorbing film informs consumers about the shocking facts the meat corporations try to hide.
