City Screen welcomes director Frances Lea to the Picturehouse in York to introduce her new film, STRAWBERRY FIELDS.
The latest in our ongoing showcase of distinctive and original independent films selected by New British Cinema Quarterly, STRAWBERRY FIELDS is set in the lush Kent countryside.
A mysterious girl, Tammy, cycles into a strawberry farm and takes a casual job and a casual interest in Kev, her handsome if slightly dodgy hunk of a co-worker.
Then Emily arrives. Things are not as they seem, and they spiral out of control as Emily declares herself to be the sister of 'Gillian'. A power struggle ensues between the two women, with Kev used as a pawn by Emily to unsettle and undermine her sibling.
Director Frances Lea will be taking questions after the screening, and Troubadour Rose, responsible for the compelling film score, will be playing live in the Riverside Bar.
