From the director of THE BLACK STALLION comes the story of a family who adopt a flock of geese after its leader dies.
Ultimately they help the flock migrate south by piloting an ultra-light plane.
This film is based on the real-life exploits of Bill Lishman whose story was featured on a "20/20" news segment in 1993.
Featured among the ensemble are Jeff Daniels, Dana Delany and Academy-Award-winning actress Anna (THE PIANO) Paquin.
This film marks Carroll Ballard's first production since completing WIND in 1992.
Preliminary scenes are said to show the hatching eggs of real geese: "The newborn geese 'imprint' onto the first living thing they see and then follow it around.".
