Staff Choice: AVATAR 3D

Come along to our staff-choice screening of AVATAR 3D, chosen by Chris Andes, on Sunday 5 August at 7.00!

To celebrate the International Day of the World's Indigenous People we are delighted to team up with Survival International for this presentation of AVATAR 3D. Based in London, Survival International is the only organisation working for tribal people's rights worldwide.

Billed as the film that would cement cinema's 3D revolution, AVATAR was also James Cameron's first directorial outing since he rewrote the record books with TITANIC. This is a lavish sci-fi spectacle that derives old-fashioned thrills from cutting-edge technology. In the distant future, Jake (Sam Worthington), a wheelchair-bound war veteran, travels to the planet of Pandora on a mission to establish a human colony. Implanted into the body of a local life form, an eight-foot-tall blue-skinned being known as a Na'vi, he is released into the planet's hostile hinterland. Here he is befriended by a reluctant ally, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), who draws him into the Na'vi's beguiling and beautiful world. But as the tensions between humans and aliens increase, Jake will have to pick a side in the epic conflict that is to come.
