Synopsis

As a modern-day reimagining aimed at a new generation of cinemagoers as well as the first film's loyal cult fan-base, THE KARATE KID sees Jaden Smith (THE DAY THE EARTH STOOD STILL) inherit the belt as the eponymous martial arts apprentice, Dre Parker.

Here he seeks to master the ancient art of kung fu after relocating to China following his mother's career change.

Being raised on the mean streets of Detroit, Dre finds it difficult to adapt to his new surroundings, but the wise and kindly Mr Han (Chan) soon sets him on the right path.
