Based on Alice Sebold's bestselling 2002 novel, THE LOVELY BONES is the harrowing yet hopeful account of Susie Salmon (Ronan), a young girl who is murdered and left to watch over her friends, family and killer from heaven.
Peter Jackson's first directorial feature in five years may fall in between a giant gorilla and diminutive Middle-earth dwellers, but this is by no means a filler for the New Zealand-born filmmaker.
It is his most personal project since THE LORD OF THE RINGS, having secured the rights himself for a reported 30 million dollars.
With a solid cast and a score by Brian Eno, THE LOVELY BONES, much like its eponymous source, is certain to please both familiar and uninitiated audiences.
