The Bus Driver's Prayer Feat. Danny Sherwood + Garwe + More

[]

Rightly hyped by the hype merchants as the finest night of music and spoken word at Hackney Attic on Thursdsay 12th July, we have a terrific line-up for you, with Garwe, Imogen Butler-Cole, Danny Sherwood and me, Richard Purnell, and returning hero Jamie Smart full and in effect for you to enjoy!

£4 entry, less for concessions (ie pensioners or Picturehouse members)

Jamie Smart trio

first and foremost, Jamie Smart is back from travelling around India, finding himself, losing himself, then finding himself again (x8) and is now back with a guitar case full of songs which he will be airing, with a trio that is tighter than a Hackney-boy's trousers.

Garwe

Fabulously talented guitarist, singer-songwriter, whose influences span soul, jazz, rock and more, we are delighted to have Garwe on board the Bus Driver's Prayer this month.

Average White Female

Spoken word artist Average White Female will be giving us a performance of some of her magnificent, somewhat melancholic but ultimately uplifting poetry, joined by beatboxer and friend of the Bus Driver's Prayer, the great Pikey Esquire

Danny Sherwood

The flat-capped Derbyshire lad, Danny Sherwood, is back at Hackney Attic, where he will be airing tracks from his new ep, When The Ship Comes In. We love his bittersweet, jazz-tinged folk-blues, and he should be seen, and enjoyed, but also asked: hey Dan, where d'ya get that fine hat from?

Richard Purnell

Yeah, so if you've got this far, I've been lacing this line-up buff with cheap half-rhymes, and I'll be dropping some poems which will form part of the show I'm taking up Edinburgh-way, with Gary From Leeds, this August. If you are Michael Beard, editor of the Brighton Argus, you might not like it, but everyone else should be fine.
