Hackney Picturehouse & Hackney Attic 6pm - midnight
He adored New York City. To him, no matter what the season was, this was still a town that existed in black and white and pulsated to the great tunes of George Gershwin ...
Uh ... no. Let me start this over ...
Chapter one. What better way to spend a dark winter evening than by celebrating Woody Allen's birthday with a special screening of MANHATTAN, followed by three brilliant young stand-up comics, and readings from Woody's classic New Yorker short stories? All served with exclusive Woody-themed cocktails and a live jazz trio until midnight?
Performers include Canadian comic Tony Law (Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, Have I Got News For You), actor and stand-up Tom Rosenthal (Chicken Soup with Barley, Friday Night Dinner), agony aunt Irma Kurtz, film critic Boyd Hilton and Kerry Shale, the only performer of Woody Allen’s work to have been approved by Woody himself.
