In the film a group of Scottish homeowners take on celebrity tycoon Donald Trump in a 21st-century David vs Goliath story.
At stake is an environmentally sensitive stretch of northeast Scotland's coastline, which has been described as 'Scotland's Amazon' and has been the backdrop to the local people's lives.
Trump has bought hundreds of acres of land in the area and plans to build two golf courses, a 450-room hotel and 1500 luxury homes. But standing in his way are a handful of residents who refuse to be bought out and see the landscape destroyed. The film captures the cultural chasm between the jet-setting and media-savvy Trump and a deeply rooted Scottish community.
Entertaining, inspiring and heartbreaking in turns, YOU'VE BEEN TRUMPED is a can't-believe-it's-true tale and a parable for our celebrity-oriented times.
