Tilt-Shift Cinema THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED
Saturday 10 March, 8.00 - 1.00. Film at 9.00
Autumn Shift's Tilt-Shift Cinema presents an extraordinary night of film, dance and music: Lotte Reiniger's THE ADVENTURES OF PRINCE ACHMED (1926) is the earliest surviving animated feature film, set to an innovative live composition by the Prinz Achmed Orchestra. A re-imagining of the Arabian Nights Tales through beautiful hand-cut silhouettes, it's a mind-blowing feat of early cinema. Come and enjoy this immersive fusion of magic, mystery and monsters, also featuring the entrancing tribal bellydance group La Zingara, a programme of animated shorts and a DJ (for kicks and dancing!).
