Plan UK presents FAST GIRLS
Thursday 23 August, 2.00 – 5.00
Plan UK will be hosting a free event at Hackney Picturehouse on the afternoon of 23 August to celebrate the power and potential of girls in the UK and around the globe. The event will introduce girls to Plan UK’s Because I Am A Girl campaign. This work aims to support four million girls around the world to get the education, skills and support they need to move from poverty to opportunity.
The afternoon will include a showing of our new advert to promote the campaign as well as a screening of the new British film FAST GIRLS. Billed as the feel-good film of the summer, FAST GIRLS tracks the journey of a British female sprint relay team, and stars a trio of Britain’s hottest young stars. There will also be an introductory talk from Plan UK’s chief executive, Marie Staunton, and an opportunity for the girls to ask questions. Afterwards we will have refreshments upstairs in the Hackney Attic and another opportunity to learn about the work that Plan does to support girls - and also to have some cake!
The event will run from 2.00 to 5.00, and is free to all girls aged 18 or under.
