Christmas at Picturehouse

This December immerse yourself in the best seasonal treats from the worlds of film, ballet and classical music.

The curtain rises for the ballet on Thursday 15 December with the timeless fairytale The Sleeping Beauty live from Royal Opera House, which is followed on Sunday 18th by the Christmas-time favourite The Nutcracker performed by the Bolshoi Ballet in Moscow.

The evergreen feel-good tonic IT'S A WONDERFUL LIFE is complemented by the digital re-release of Marcel Carné's masterpiece, LES ENFANTS DU PARADIS. A lavish, intensely romantic evocation of an epoch, it takes us into a world of the fictitious and historical characters thronging along the 'Boulevard du Crime' in the theatre district of 1840s Paris.

And on New Year's Eve at 5.30, take your seat for the rousing and inspiring music of the Berlin Philharmonic's annual New Year's Eve Gala Concert brought to you live from Berlin - what better way to round off the year?
