Jon Ronson Q&A at The Gate
Filmmaker, author and journalist Jon Ronson will join us for a Q&A following a rare screening of his 2008 documentary, STANLEY KUBRIK'S BOXES.
Jon made the film after being invited to the Kubrick estate by the late filmmaker’s family and given unprecedented access to his personal archive. The film is a fascinating insight into the personal habits of one of the most private filmmakers.
Following the Q&A Jon will introduce Stanley Kubrick’s classic war film, FULL METAL JACKET (18).
Spare, harrowing and visceral, Kubrick's Vietnam movie starts with a group of marines undergoing basic training on Parris Island. It then jumps to the fighting in Saigon and Hue during the Tet Offensive of 1967, showing how the soldiers' acquired skills and reflexes are put into practice in the actual confusion of war.
