The Gate is Raising Money for Charity Plan UK

As you may be aware, there is currently a severe food shortage in Niger. According to the United Nations, approximately seven million people - almost 50% of the population - are suffering from severe or moderate food insecurity. Some children aren’t going to school because they are too hungry.

Picturehouse Cinemas have been working together to raise money for Plan UK for the past few years, by organising all kinds of great events.

This year, The Gate is raising money in the following ways:

Late Shows

We've just launched a programme of late shows of cult favourites and classic cinema. Tickets for these shows are only £8.50 (£6.50 Members), but we will ask everyone that attends for a donation to Plan.

Bike Relay

Our General Manager, Jose, is doing a charity bike ride - as are many other Picturehouse staff members across the land. In fact, the cycle routes link up every Picturehouse Cinema. Considering that we have cinemas as far apart as Exeter and Aberdeen, it's quite an achievement! You can sponsor Jose here.

Poster Sale

We have a collection of posters for sale in our foyer. ALL money raised will be donated to Plan. So leave a few extra minutes to have a look through on your next visit to the cinema.

If you would like to donate, follow this link.

Thank you for all your support over the last few years, and for any contribution you can make to reaching our 2012 target of £1500.
