John Coates was production supervisor on this iconic 1960s feature.

The Beatles accompany Captain Fred in his Yellow Submarine to Pepperland in order to free it from the Blue Meanies.

The style of the film was devised by creative director Heinz Edelmann and contrasts greatly with that of Disney and other animation films released before this time.

YELLOW SUBMARINE also paved the way for Terry Gilliam's animations for Do Not Adjust Your Set and Monty Python.
