Billy Wilder's much-loved classic THE APARTMENT makes a welcome return, digitally restored, on 15 and 19 July.
Starring Jack Lemon and Shirley MacLaine and originally released in 1960, THE APARTMENT was Wilder's follow-up to SOME LIKE IT HOT, and proved to be every bit as popular, scooping five Oscars, including Best Picture and Best Director.
THE APARTMENT is the story of an office worker at an insurance company, played by Jack Lemmon, who sees an opportunity to climb the corporate ladder by allowing his seniors to use his apartment for extramarital activities, with hilarious consequences.
