Clapham Picturehouse presents CineSci6: a series of screenings and discussions led by special guests, exploring the science found in some of our favourite films.
WEIRD SCIENCE (15)
Sunday 11 December, 2.30
The next in this series of screenings is WEIRD SCIENCE, John Hughes' third directorial effort. Following in the tradition of his previous teen-centred films, Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith play Gary and Wyatt, a pair of high-school geeks who are hapless with members of the opposite sex. Using Wyatt's computer, they create what they believe is the ideal woman.
Following the screening, science writer Simon Frantz will be hosting a discussion about the film, advances in synthetic biology, and how to create the perfect organism.
Keep an eye out for future CineSci6 screenings, including:
ROBOCOP (18) Sunday 8 January, 2.30
MEMENTO (15) Sunday 12 February, 2.30
