Synopsis

Told with a wicked sense of humour and a lot of heart, this is an oddball tale of what can happen when the legal system, a daredevil spirit and undying love collide.

Written by the team responsible for the similarly dark BAD SANTA, this improbable but true story stars Jim Carrey as Steven Russell, a happily married and charismatic con artist who makes a living as a professional imposter.

During his latest spell in prison, Russell falls in love with his cell mate, Phillip Morris (McGregor), and the pair embark on a whirlwind relationship that will send the lives of their loved ones into disarray.

After Morris's release, Russell is determined to keep the spark alive, and sets his sights on breaking loose and going after his lover.
