David Cronenberg has given us some of the most extraordinary, disturbing and thought-provoking films in all of cinema; he is the David Lynch for those who prefer linear storytelling. 'Quirky' and 'bizarre' barely begin to scratch the surface of Cronenberg's work, which at best can be called subversive and at worst perverse and disturbed. Call him what you will, the man's a true artist, always dancing on the razor's edge of cinema.
