Thursday 8 December, 6.30
2011 marks the 40th anniversary of Queen, regarded by many as the greatest rock band in the world. It's also the 20th anniversary of the death of ‘the greatest frontman ever’, Freddie Mercury, who died of an AIDS-related illness in November 1991.
To remember Freddie and celebrate the genius that is Queen, Aberdeen Movie Club and The Belmont present Queen for a Night, a unique evening of entertainment with a percentage of all ticket sales to be donated to The Mercury Phoenix Trust, the AIDS charity set up in Freddie’s name in 1992.
This unique double bill brings the cult 1980 sci-fi classic FLASH GORDON, with its unmistakable Queen soundtrack, back to the big screen.
After a short break, sit back and enjoy one of the first concert movies ever made, QUEEN ROCK MONTREAL, digitally restored from the original cinematic release, recorded on 24 November, 1981.
The evening will conclude with a charity auction of Queen-related memorabilia, including signed items kindly donated by the Official International Queen Fan Club, with proceeds from the auction donated to The Mercury Phoenix Trust.
Tickets are very limited and only £10 each for the entire evening.
