An utterly irreverent and hugely enjoyable mixture of classic fairytale stories and hard-bitten police investigation (with healthy doses of humour), HOODWINKED is Little Red Riding Hood turned slightly askew.
The story begins where Little Red Riding Hood ends as the Grandmother (Close, 102 DALMATIONS) and the Woodcutter (Belushi) confront the Big Bad Wolf.
Suddenly the Police arrive (all animals), blocking the entrances to the house, and begin their investigation of the human inhabitants.
Little Red Riding Hood (Hathaway, THE PRINCESS DIARIES) is the prime suspect, with the Woodcutter and the Grandmother also coming under suspicion.
This impressive, character-based animation maintains an accessibility throughout with wise-cracking dialogue, jokey insider references and a roll call of instantly familiar fairytale figures.
