Take One Action Film Festival at the Belmont

The Belmont Picturehouse is pleased be hosting a screening as part of the Take One Action Film Festival.

Take One Action is Scotland’s global action cinema project, celebrating the people and the movies that are changing the world. Established in 2008 and based in Edinburgh, Take One Action Film Festival is now the UK's leading internationalist film festival with a unique focus on engaging the public with international development issues through the lens of world-class cinema. Its patron is the Palm d'Or-winning filmmaker Ken Loach, and it is supported by Creative Scotland.

Nominated for 13 Goyas (Spain’s Oscars), Iciar Bollain’s dramatic roller-coaster ride penned by Take One Action patron Paul Laverty (LOOKING FOR ERIC) stars Gael Garcia Bernal as Sebastian, a filmmaker caught up in Bolivia’s mass protests of spring 2000 against the government’s decision to privatise the national water company.
