Europe’s largest science festival is coming to Aberdeen from 4 to 9 September, and we’re delighted to be bringing two unique events to The Belmont.
On 4 September, come and meet the inspirational Kate Allatt, who in 2010 awoke from a major stroke with the terrifying condition of locked-in syndrome - leaving her only able to communicate through the blink of an eye.
Her remarkable journey will be told alongside a talk on the pioneering work being done in Aberdeen to help patients in similar situations, following a screening of THE DIVING BELL AND THE BUTTERFLY.
We’ll also be hosting a debate on the portrayal of mental illness in the media on 6 September, complemented by a screening of A BEAUTIFUL MIND.
