No. 4 Hatter Street is the Abbeygate's stunning dining room - with its Georgian style decor it's something we're really proud of. Whether you're after a relaxing glass of wine before a film or you're in the mood for a delectable sit-down meal, you'll find a warm welcome at our brand new bar and restaurant.
Our Canadian Chef Alex Rotherham has created a menu from which everyone will find something to suit them, including truly scrumptious burgers and exotic salads. The food is hand-crafted daily on site with care, using high quality raw ingredients.
We use local meats including Dingley Dell pork from Ashmoor Hall Farm, Campsea Ashe, beef from Hardwick Game Farm here in Bury St Edmunds, and Suffolk free-range chicken. We also serve sustainable seafood, which is Suffolk-sourced whenever possible. Our organically grown herbs and spices bring bold and exciting flavours to our dishes.
For those of you who want to come by for an afternoon break, we have a classic afternoon tea and a lavish spread of decadent sweets on offer.
Plus with draft lager and bitter, a select wine list and some fantastic films thrown in the mix, there's not much more you could ask for!
