Christopher Hitchens and Stephen Fry

Wednesday 9 November, 8.30
Broadcast live from the Royal Festival Hall

STOP PRESS Event Update: Christopher Hitchens has pneumonia.

There is good news and bad news. The bad news is that Christopher has pneumonia and won't have a strong enough voice over the next week or so to be able to make transatlantic conversation with Stephen Fry. The good news is that Stephen will now be joined on both sides of the Atlantic by close friends and colleagues of the Hitch including Martin Amis in New York and Richard Dawkins live on stage in London. They will be examining their and his ideas of what constitutes the good life and the good death – seen against the backdrop of Christopher's career, the causes dear to his heart, the controversies that he has so enjoyed provoking and the things that make life worth defending.

For over 40 years Christopher Hitchens has written and spoken with passionate commitment on matters that others fear to broach.
His life has been one of defiance, wit and humility. Now his life is threatened by cancer, but his devotion to the truth and his extraordinary courage are undiminished.

This special event for Intelligence² , will be Martin Amis in conversation via satellite from New York with Stephen Fry and Richard Dawkins, who will be on stage live at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall, London, in front of a sell-out audience of 2,500.

Full price £15, Members £12, Concessions £13
